HERRIMAN, Utah (October 23, 2026) - With the home win against the Kansas City Current on Saturday, October 17 the Utah Royals have officially punched its ticket to the postseason for the first time in club history.
The Royals have enjoyed the best-ever regular season in club history en-route to the 2026 postseason, breaking club records left and right to catapult itself towards the top of the NWSL standings all season while also putting the league on notice as an offensive power that is a threat to any opponent it faces.
The 2026 URFC squad has earned the club its best record since the Return to Royalty, doubling Utah’s overall wins in each of its previous two seasons to go 14-5-10 (W-L-T). Along with a record-breaking amount of results, the Utah side has scored an impressive 44 goals throughout 2026, currently just six goals behind the total of both the 2024 and 2025 seasons put together (50 goals). With 47 points, 44 goals, 14 wins, eight home wins, and six road wins, all club records, Head Coach Jimmy Coenraets has put together the best season in Utah history.
If URFC’s breakthrough as one of the league’s top power offenses wasn’t impressive enough, the squad has also lifted itself to a club-best road record of 6-3-4 (W-L-T), tallying 21 points away from home to remain near the top of the NWSL standings all season. The away record is a major boost to a URFC side who only secured five road wins total in its previous two seasons and with its final road match of the season coming on November 1 against Gotham, the Royals have a chance to earn one last victory before the regular season concludes.
With one game remaining in the 2026 NWSL regular season, URFC will hit the road to face Gotham FC on Sunday, November 1. With an opportunity to improve its playoff seeding, Coenraets and his squad will look to secure a result in the final regular-season match of this historic campaign and head into the postseason with confidence and momentum.
