HERRIMAN, Utah (Wed., October 7, 2026) - Throughout the recently concluded combined September/October FIFA International window, Real Salt Lake saw nine of its players called up for international duty, representing eight different nations.
Summer World Cup standouts and RSL defenders Juan Manuel Sanabria (Uruguay) and Luc de Fougerolles (Canada) were called in to their respective nations for three friendlies throughout the window, while centerbacks Kobi Henry (Trinidad and Tobago) and Monarchs standout Gio Calderon (Puerto Rico) competed in CONCACAF Nations League. Attacker Saba Lobjanidze was called in following RSL’s trip to Seattle late last month to represent Georgia in its UEFA Nations League group games.
Additionally, RSL homegrown Luca Moisa received a call into the United States U-19 camp, with fellow American holding midfielder Colin Guske receiving his call into the USA U-20 camp. Former RSL Academy attacker Antonio Riquelme earned yet another selection from Chile’s U-20 squad, with RSL academy goalkeeper Konstantinos Kyriazis receiving an invite to the Greece U-17 side, competing in the Ježek Cup in the Czech Republic.
Receiving his first callup since his breakout performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, JuanMa Sanabria featured in two friendly matches for the South American side. The versatile left-sided man logged 79 minutes in Uruguay’s first match of the window, a 3-1 loss to Japan. After not playing in Uruguay’s second friendly, the RSL man would eventually score his first-ever senior team international goal at the 71st-minute, scoring the fifth in an eventual 6-1 win for Uruguay away at India.
Newly-acquired centerback Luc de Fougerolles received yet another inclusion to feature for Canada, competing in all three friendlies this international window. Fulham loanee de Fougerolles started all three matches this window, logging 76 minutes in Canada’s 1-0 over Chile, 65 minutes in the Canadians’ 2-0 win against Peru, and the full 90 in the Canucks’ 1-0 loss to the United States Tuesday in Minnesota.
Initially declining his Georgian opportunity to focus on ending the Claret-and-Cobalt’s post-World Cup MLS winless run, Saba Lobjanidze missed Georgia’s 0-1 loss to Northern Ireland before arriving in Europe and being relegated to the bench in the remaining three UEFA Nations League group games, a 0-0 draw against Ukraine, 1-0 loss to Hungary, and 0-0 draw with Northern Ireland.
Emerging MLS centerback Kobi Henry logged a pair of 90-minute shifts in each of Trinidad’s CONCACAF Nations League group matches, after missing the first two games of the window while featuring for RSL in the 2-0 loss at Seattle and the 3-0 win over New England. The Florida-born former U.S. youth international faced Curaçao in both games, defeating The Blue Wave 1-0 in the first match and drawing 0-0 in the second.
Rising young RSL homegrown Luca Moisa accepted the call from USA U-19 Head Coach Rob Valentino to an international training camp in Marbella, Spain, arriving directly from Seattle following RSL’s rescheduled MLS midweek match in late September. The USA U19s opened its friendly slate with a 2-0 victory over Wales, followed by a 2-1 loss to England and ended camp with a strong 4-3 victory against Norway.
RSL midfielder Colin Guske, currently on loan from Orlando City, received his call to the USA U-20 youth national team, with two matches also played in Spain. The first match ended in a 2-0 defeat to Brazil, with Guske starting the 3-3 draw with Denmark in the second match.
Rising RSL / Monarchs youth product Antonio “Chile” Riquelme, a regular with the La Roja youth teams, was invited to compete in the Odesur Games 2026, donning his nation's badge. The South American sports event took place in Argentina, with Chile claiming wins over Colombia, 3-2, and Panama, 4-1, while falling to Peru, 0-2.
Monarchs Captain and 2026 Club Defensive Player of the Year, Gio Calderon, once again was called in to represent Puerto Rico, as El Huracán Azul competed in his country’s CONCACAF Nations League. Calderon played two minutes in Puerto Rico’s third Nations League group stage match, a 3-0 victory over Cayman Islands.
Finally, the RSL pipeline’s young up-and-coming goalkeeper “Tinos” Kyriazis received the call into the Greece U-18 selection, participating in the Ježek Cup, a tournament held in the Czech Republic. The Greek side began the tournament by falling 2-1 to Slovakia, before rebounding in a 4-2 victory over Switzerland. Greece ended the Ježek Cup with a 3-1 loss to Czechia on the final day of group stage play.
