HERRIMAN, Utah (Wednesday, July 23, 2025) – Real Salt Lake Academy midfielder Reignen Magsino has been named to the Puerto Rico U16 National Team for July’s training camp held on the 22nd and 23nd at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. The camp serves as early preparation for 2026 U17 FIFA World Cup Qualifying, set to begin in February.
The call-up follows a strong performance from Magsino at the 2025 MLS NEXT Cup, where the dynamic midfielder scored a crucial goal in the Round of 16 to help propel Real Salt Lake through the knockout stages. Magsino’s influence throughout the tournament helped RSL Academy lift the coveted national trophy completing the historic “double” becoming the first academy to win Generation adidas Cup and MLS NEXT Cup in the same year, highlighting his continued growth and international potential.
As Magsino joins Puerto Rico's youth national setup, Real Salt Lake Academy prepares for the upcoming 2026 MLS NEXT season, which kicks off in the coming weeks.
Real Salt Lake Academy is the official MLS NEXT affiliate of MLS side Real Salt Lake. Leading Major League Soccer in homegrown signees, RSL welcomed four homegrown signees earlier this year, welcoming Omar Marquez, Aiden Hezarkhani, Owen Anderson and Gio Villa to its 2025 class. The quartet of RSL Academy products boosts the number of homegrown signings to 45, after all four inked their deals with the Claret-and-Cobalt.
