Generation Adidas Cup Begins for U15s

RSL Academy’s U15 squad will be the First team to represent the Claret-and-Cobalt at the 2022 Generation Adidas Cup tournament, taking the pitch Saturday, April 9 at 6:00 p.m. MT against the tournament hosts, FC Dallas. 

The U15 squad enters the Generation Adidas Cup 2-2-2 (W-L-D) across all competitions since January of 2022, most recently falling 4-3 in a dramatic back-and-forth match against LA Galaxy. 

This season, the RSL Academy’s U15s are 14-4-4, including three consecutive victories as part of an unbeaten run at the MLS NEXT Fest in December of 2021. Meanwhile, FC Dallas is 9-6-6 across all competitions between August of 2021 and now. 

FC Dallas enters the match on a two-game scoreless streak, having drawn 0-0 with both Austin FC and Chicago Fire in recent weeks. Since the start of the new year, Dallas has only earned wins against FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew. 

During the Generation Adidas Cup, Head Coach Andrew May will be looking to win his second trophy at the U15 level for the RSL Academy, having previously won the 2021 MLS NEXT Cup last summer. 

Following the match against FC Dallas, the team will take on FC Cincinnati the next day on Sunday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. MT, and will complete their group stage play against powerhouse Club Tijuana from Mexico, on Monday, April 11 at 7:00 p.m. MT.
