RSL Unified Kickoff Season against Colorado Rapids Unified

Real Salt Lake Unified is set to kick-off their 2022 season at home against Colorado Rapids Unified. The match, slated to kick off at 10:15 p.m. MT, will take place at Rio Tinto Stadium following the RSLā€™s return to the RioT for the Rocky Mountain Cup.Ā 

In 2021, RSL Unified went undefeated with a 4-3 win against RSL Unified Alumni. The Rapids Unified visit to Rio Tinto Stadium will be the first time since 2019 that RSL Unified will face another Unified team.

RSL Unified will face Rocky Mountain Rival Colorado Rapids Unified to start off their 2022 campaign. RSL has faced Colorado Rapids Unified two times in its history, splitting results with one win and one loss. The last time these two teams faced off was in 2018 in Commerce City, Colorado where Rapids Unified won 3-1.

Heading into this seasonā€™s home opener, the team has finalized its roster, consisting of 16 players with 12 returners and four newcomers from their 2021 side.

2022 RSL Unified Roster: Ellie Jensen, Radi Papadopoulos, Kyle Karren, Jaden Hartman, Clayton Boydston, Edward Pont, Dominique DeHerrera, Sophie LaForge, Kylie Wilson, Broc Welch, Bronson Roach, Dominic Ramirez, Jayden Jensen, Jonas Johnson, Madison Anderson, Sayge Gardner

Additionally, the team has brought in a new coach for the season. Former RSL playerĀ Luis SilvaĀ joins the squad as an assistant coach, rounding out the six-person coaching staff. Head coachĀ Jenna HollandĀ returns for her seventh season at the helm, joined as well byĀ Alisa Graham, Bryan Karren, Rylee JohnsonĀ and*Ā Sean Johnson*, who all return from last yearā€™s staff.

RSL Unified will have its July 9 match at home before heading on the road to take on San Jose Earthquakes Unified on July 30 with the match taking place directly after the RSL versus San Jose Earthquakes match.
