Stories to Watch:

The Road to Playoffs

After a loss to Chicago Fire FC, RSL remain in eighth place just two points outside of a playoff position behind seventh place Vancouver Whitecaps FC. With a win over FC Dallas and favorable results from teams ahead of it, RSL could jump into sixth place based on its positive two goal differential. FC Dallas is already eliminated from playoff contention, but recently drew 2-2 with the current fifth-place LA Galaxy. Unlike those above, RSL has a game in hand with four matches remaining, two of which will be held at Rio Tinto Stadium where the team is currently riding an eight-game win streak. Should RSL win at Dallas and its remaining two matches at home the team would be able to secure a playoff spot as the teams ahead and directly below them all play each other in their remaining matches, preventing a scenario where they all win out.

All Eyes on Them

Midfielders Damir Kreilach and Albert RusnĂĄk are inching closer to history as they both look to become the first RSL player to record double digits in both goals and assists. Kreilach added a goal and two assists against Colorado last Saturday to bring his total to 14 goals and eight assists. Meanwhile, Rusnak added an assist to bring his total to seven goals and 11 assists. Currently, Kreilach is tied for the fourth-highest combined goals and assists (22) total with Ola Kamara of D.C. United.

Connections: Real Salt Lake and FC Dallas have two of the highest total Homegrown minutes in the entire league. RSL has logged 9,740 minutes from Homegrown players – the most in the league, while Dallas has logged 8,170 minutes from Homegrowns, good for the second-most in the league.
